Have you ever picked up a piece of clothing and just couldn’t decide if you absolutely loved it or absolutely loathed it? I have, quite a bit, and it usually comes in the form of a trend. I find that sometimes the answer to that curious predicament depends upon the situation and how the article is styled. Which brings me to joggers. I went to Target the other day for no good reason and saw these hanging in the women’s section. I absolutely loathed them on the hanger, but something came over me (I think it was the demons of Target, as usual) and I decided to try them on. I actually really liked them when they were on! Slouchy, comfortable and kinda cool when resting low on the hips. I think the number one way to make joggers look dreadfully uncool is to wear them high around your waist. I also decided because the joggers are a bit masculine and shapeless, wearing feminine pieces to compliment them would be a good way to transition that loathe to love.
On July 4th, Fonz and I celebrated 3 years together! So crazy – I feel like it was just yesterday that I randomly received a phone call from that kid in Puerto Rico I met over Christmas break. On July 4th, I was in Austin for a friend’s bachelorette party, so we delayed the anniversary festivities to last night. To celebrate our milestone, we decided to spend the day at the beach, go to Laguna Bob’s on the bay, and end the day with dinner at the Sea Ranch – in true Fonz and Shelby fashion. For dinner I decided to ditch my bikini and T-shirt for my brand new joggers.
What is your opinion of joggers? I’m definitely still a little of eerie of the trend, but love this pair. I think it may partly because they are so freaking comfortable – which I’m always a fan of! Until next time!
